  • Secrets of a Professional Dog Trainer Review

Secrets of a Professional Dog Trainer is written by Adam Katz. Does anybody else find it ironic that a book about dog training is written by a guy named Katz?

Anyway, as dog training books go, this one is a thorough, if not somewhat lengthy ebook that covers much more than simple training. It begins when you first decide to get a puppy.

From beginning to end, there is very little left uncovered. But don’t let it’s length fool you. Secrets of a Professional Dog Trainer is a “meat and potatoes” manual. No fluff, no hype.

With everything this manual teaches you, you would expect the price to be a lot higher than your average dog training book. But comparatively speaking, I think the book alone is a bargain at the price.

I usually don’t get excited about bonuses, because most are junk throw-ins, but not this time.

Here’s just a couple of bonuses you get.

“Eight Secrets To Becoming The “Alpha Dog!”
In my opinion, this is a classic case of putting the cart before the horse. Many dogs, if not most, like to think that they are the boss. They do what they want, when they want, and how they want. And sadly, it’s owners actions only reinforces that behavior.

Before you can effectively train any dog, you have to show them who’s the boss. You must become “The Alpha Dog“, the leader. Once you’ve done that, everything else just sort of falls into place.

The “Eight Secrets To Becoming The “Alpha Dog” ebook teaches you how. It even comes in a mp3 audio for those times when you’re on the go. In fact, several of the free bonuses come in audio form.

But the very best bonus is the free Unlimited Consultations through their private, members-only forum, where you can interact with other members and ask for help on any dog related problem you may have. It’s moderated by a team of dog experts, including Adam himself, so you are sure to get sound professional advice.

This forum is part of the members-only subscription site and it’s free for the first 30 days, after which you can choose to renew. But even if you do not renew, that still gives you a month of free consultations. There are even live chat sessions.

Bottom line. If you like to sit in front of your TV and watch dog training videos of other people training dogs, then this probably isn’t for you. But if you want an obedient, well-behaved dog and are willing to put in the effort, then you need “Secrets of a Professional Dog Trainer“.

  • How to Train Your Puppy

Puppy training can be a lot of hard work, but it can also be fun. This is the most important part of your pet’s life because while he is still young, most of the groundwork for future behaviour will be laid. Make sure you get off on the right foot by starting to teach him early, and being consistent with your commands and training.

Crate training puppies is something you can start the minute you bring your new puppy home. Set him up his own personal area, and let him gradually become comfortable in it. Crate training can help in all future training, so it is a great place to start. Since puppies have not yet developed sufficient bladder control, they should be crated for relatively short periods of time at first, with the length of time gradually increased. Once they are adapted to their crate, you can begin house breaking.

Potty training puppies can be a lot of fun and is the perfect time to create the bond between you and your new friend that will last a lifetime. Make sure you have plenty of time in the beginning, as well as lots of patience. Potty training will not happen overnight, but it gives you and your pet plenty of time to spend together. By using positive reinforcement instead of punishment, your puppy will quickly become eager to please. This will build trust, and make future training easier.

Dog puppy training will also involve stopping chewing and biting. To stop puppy biting, show him that biting physically hurts you. Leave him alone when he bites you, showing him that he will also lose attention and a playmate if he continues biting.

To stop puppy chewing, you need to make sure he has plenty of appropriate chew toys and bones. Do not allow him access to anything off limits, and if he is caught chewing on something, replace it with a chew toy. For large objects such as furniture you may also need to use a safe chemical spray that will discourage puppy chewing.

Obedience training for puppies is extremely crucial. Puppy obedience training will teach your pet what you expect from him, and will familiarise him with the basic commands you will use for the rest of his life. Always be consistent and positive during puppy dog training.

One of the most important puppy training tips is simply to be patient and loving.

Training a puppy will take time, but losing patience will do nothing except hurt the process.

Training your puppy can be a lot of fun if you approach it with the right attitude!

  • Potty Training Puppies

When you bring home a new puppy, one of the most urgent issues quickly becomes housebreaking your pet and there are many different methods when it comes to potty training puppies. As nice as it would be, puppies are not born knowing when and where to go to the bathroom.

It is your responsibility to teach him and to make sure you give him plenty of opportunities. Understand that puppies will have accidents, and try to be extremely patient.

Crate training puppies has been proven to be very successful for many dog owners. You may have to try multiple housebreaking methods when training your puppy. Improper house breaking can lead to future problems, so be sure to follow professional proven training methods.

Crate training seems to be the most gentle and effective method for many puppies, so how do you accomplish it? First, you should make sure the crate is set up and puppy is comfortable with it. Next, pick an outdoor spot where you want your puppy to go to the bathroom. Keep your puppy in his crate near you, and every hour take him to his designated potty spot. Use a cue word for your dog to associate with this process, like “potty”.

While you are waiting on him to use the potty, repeat this keyword as you walk back and forth or in circles. If he does eliminate (go to the bathroom), praise him immediately and enthusiastically, and offer him a treat. If he does not use the bathroom, return him to his crate and try again in about twenty minutes.

Once your puppy goes to the bathroom, allow him some free playtime outside of his crate. Reward his success with plenty of attention before returning him to his crate.

Repeat this sixty-minute schedule until your pet knows how to let you know when he needs to go to the bathroom. Be sure to take food and water away shortly before bedtime, and take him to the potty right before you go to sleep. You will probably need to get up once or twice in the night to take your puppy outside until his training is complete.

Once your puppy is housebroken during the daytime, you can try to set up an indoor potty for him. Use the same method to teach him that this is where he needs to go to the bathroom when he cannot get outside.

Here’s a list of what we think The Best Dog Training Guides on the planet are.

Potty training puppies may take some time and patience, but it will be well worth it when you no longer have to worry about stepping in your puppy’s indoor accident! Make sure you start this process immediately, and it won’t take long to see results.
